Purpose Statement

To help develop and build key account relationships. This will maintain and grow the long-term value of these accounts and expand business opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • National Diploma or Diploma in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or a related field (NQF Level 6).

Work Experience

  • 3 to 5 years in the Food and Health sector. Experience in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, laboratory testing, or certification services is preferred.
  • Experience in conformity assessment is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functional Management

  • Help create and carry out a client engagement and retention plan for the sector. Work with the Lead: Sales and Business Development, Customer Services team, and Operations Division.
  • Build and keep strong relationships with key account customers through regular contact.
  • Make sure all documents needed for key account contracts are ready, following approved steps.
  • Support key account relationships with on-site visits, together with the Lead and Manager: Sales and Business Development.
  • Handle complaints from key accounts that are within your scope. Refer others to the right internal teams.
  • Be the main contact for all complaints, queries, and requests from key accounts, whether in scope or not.
  • Track and report on cost-benefit analysis, profitability, and service costs for key accounts. Work with the Lead: Sales and Business Development and Finance to stay within budget.
  • Spot and report early signs of problems that could affect projects or relationships.
  • Quickly process key account requests with other departments, like Operations, to start services on time.
  • Communicate with internal teams to meet key accounts’ needs.
  • Help prepare monthly reports on key account progress, goals, and forecasts for teams and stakeholders.
  • Review trends in key accounts and suggest ways to improve systems and processes.
  • Understand key accounts’ needs and help create tailored solutions. Work with the Specialist: Upsell, Cross sell and On selling, and the Specialist: Product, Solution, Client and Market Innovations.
  • Keep accurate records of all key account files and documents in your area.
  • Plan, organize, and manage work duties related to your team.

Risk and Compliance Management

  • Help identify and follow fraud controls, risk prevention, governance, and compliance processes.
  • Support internal and external audits, accreditation, and regulatory needs by providing evidence.
  • Meet customer satisfaction standards under ISO, accreditation, and regulations.
  • Follow all relevant laws, policies, and procedures, such as the Code of Ethics, PFMA, and National Credit Act.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders for better management, sharing knowledge, and protecting the organization’s reputation.
  • Join organization committees and task teams when needed.
  • Attend meetings and present information to stakeholders as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service according to service level agreements.
  • Resolve queries and issues within your control and time frames.
  • Follow up on unresolved queries and complaints.
  • Work with stakeholders on tender information follow-ups when needed.
