Key Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel within the Metro.
  • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Occupational Therapist.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage occupational therapy services for a designated area.
  • Manage people, including rehab care workers, students, and volunteers.
  • Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Screen, assess, and intervene as required and appropriate.
  • Link patients to suitable levels of care.

Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 1: No experience required after HPCSA registration for South African qualified employees. For foreign qualified employees (not required to perform community service in South Africa), 1 year of relevant experience after registration.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after HPCSA registration for South African qualified employees. For foreign qualified employees, a minimum of 11 years’ relevant experience after registration.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after HPCSA registration for South African qualified employees. For foreign qualified employees, a minimum of 21 years’ relevant experience after registration.
