About Us:

Robben Island Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site managed by the Department of Arts and Culture, seeks a skilled IT professional to join our team. We preserve and promote South Africa’s heritage through conservation, education, and sustainable tourism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install/maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Manage server environments (Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS)
  • Implement cybersecurity measures and firewall administration
  • Monitor network performance and ensure 24/7 system availability
  • Oversee data backup systems including Veeam Backup Server
  • Provide technical support across multiple sites
  • Develop and implement ICT policies/procedures
  • Manage user access controls and permissions

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma (NQF 6) in IT/Computer Science + CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification
  • 5+ years network/server administration experience
  • Expertise in TCP/IP protocols and VLAN management
  • Proven experience with virtual server environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in related field
  • Microsoft Entra ID administration experience
  • Wireless network management skills
