About Us:
Robben Island Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site managed by the Department of Arts and Culture, seeks a skilled IT professional to join our team. We preserve and promote South Africa’s heritage through conservation, education, and sustainable tourism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install/maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Manage server environments (Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS)
- Implement cybersecurity measures and firewall administration
- Monitor network performance and ensure 24/7 system availability
- Oversee data backup systems including Veeam Backup Server
- Provide technical support across multiple sites
- Develop and implement ICT policies/procedures
- Manage user access controls and permissions
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma (NQF 6) in IT/Computer Science + CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification
- 5+ years network/server administration experience
- Expertise in TCP/IP protocols and VLAN management
- Proven experience with virtual server environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in related field
- Microsoft Entra ID administration experience
- Wireless network management skills
