The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) is an independent oversight body responsible for monitoring correctional operations and protecting the rights of incarcerated persons. We report to the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services and the Minister of Correctional Services.

Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or ABET (NQF level 1-4) qualification
  • Relevant work experience
  • Ability to use cleaning machinery (e.g., vacuum, urn)
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Basic planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and write
  • A driver’s license is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning offices and maintaining an orderly working environment
  • Cleaning government vehicles
  • Safekeeping of equipment
  • Ordering cleaning materials
  • Performing ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor
