The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) is an independent oversight body tasked with monitoring the operations of the Department of Correctional Services and ensuring the rights of incarcerated persons are protected. JICS reports to the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services and the Minister of Correctional Services.

Key Information:

• Qualification Required: Grade 10 or ABET (NQF level1-4)

Requirements:

• Applicants must have a Grade 10 or ABET (NQF level1-4) with relevant work experience.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum, urn).
• Good reading and writing skills, with strong communication and listening abilities.
• Skills in planning, organizing, and interacting with people.

Duties:

• Clean offices and maintain an orderly working environment.
• Clean government vehicles and ensure safekeeping of equipment.
• Order cleaning materials as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• A valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
