Medical Specialist Grade 1 to 3 (Family Physician) Jobs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services as a consultant and clinician.
• Offer clinical teaching and training.
• Handle clinical governance and quality management.
• Participate in academic educational activities, including teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, and conduct research.
• Manage clinical staff and support budget management for clinical services.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to work overtime at 24-hour facilities and at other facilities in the sub-structure.
• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine.
• Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine.
• Good leadership, clinical, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Community Orientated Primary Care approach and ability to engage relevant stakeholders.
• Experience in facilitating clinical teaching, learning, and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate health sciences students.
• Ability to participate in on-call rosters.

Experience Levels

• Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine.
• Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine.
• Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Family Medicine.

Salary

Grade 1: R 1 341 855 per annum
Grade 2: R 1 531 032 per annum
Grade 3: R 1 773 222 per annum
A portion of the package can be structured according to personal needs.
