Minimum Educational Qualification

  • An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.

Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs)

  • Provide an efficient and cost-effective clinical service of high quality, with a focus on patients and addressing health issues in rural areas of the Western Cape. Maintain high-quality clinical records to ensure compliance. Manage finances by using resources effectively and efficiently. Follow all human resources requirements and the Code of Conduct.

Experience

  • Grade 1: None after registration as a Medical Practitioner with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. 1 year of relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete community service in South Africa.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete community service in South Africa.
  • Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of appropriate experience as a Medical Practitioner after registration with the HPCSA for South African qualified employees. A minimum of 11 years of relevant experience after registration with a recognized foreign Health Professional Council for foreign qualified employees who do not need to complete community service in South Africa.

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills)

  • Proven skills in planning, organizing, and implementing tasks. Good knowledge of public health policies, guidelines, and rules to manage resources well. Ability and willingness to work across different disciplines if needed.
