Minimum Educational Qualification:
- A suitable qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs):
- Provide an efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality clinical service with a focus on patients. Address the main health issues in the Worcester health area (Rural Central Ecosystem). Maintain high-quality clinical records and take part in improvement strategies at national, provincial, and unit levels to ensure governance compliance. Manage finances by using resources effectively and efficiently. Follow all human resources requirements and the Code of Conduct.
Experience:
- Grade 2: At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Medical Practitioner after HPCSA registration for South African qualified staff. At least 6 years of relevant experience after registration with a foreign health council for foreign qualified staff (who do not need to complete community service in South Africa).
- Grade 1: No experience required after HPCSA registration for South African qualified staff. At least 1 year of relevant experience after registration with a foreign health council for foreign qualified staff (who do not need to complete community service in South Africa).
- Grade 3: At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Medical Practitioner after HPCSA registration for South African qualified staff. At least 11 years of relevant experience after registration with a foreign health council for foreign qualified staff (who do not need to complete community service in South Africa).
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
- Strong knowledge and experience in general patient care, including diagnosis, stabilization, treatment, and referral. Understanding of public health policies, guidelines, and rules to manage patients and resources well. Experience in planning, organizing, and carrying out tasks. Ability to work across different teams when needed.
