Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, inspect, evaluate, and assemble components to OEM standards.
  • Prepare accurate component analysis and reports.
  • Maintain a professional image when representing Barloworld Equipment.
  • Handle warranty and REMAN returns.
  • Compile reports on component conditions and failures.
  • Follow safety practices at all times.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain CAT equipment.
  • Prepare accurate customer machine analysis reports, including Machine Inspection Reports (MIRs) and Technical Analysis Reports (TAs).
  • Ensure safe work practices.
  • Control contamination to prevent issues.
  • Manage your own administration, such as labour booking, service reports, parts returns, and expenses.
  • Follow through to maintain quality and productivity standards in your work.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified in a relevant trade, such as Diesel Mechanic or Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic (NQF Level 3).
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in components.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic ability to write technical reports.
  • Basic understanding of business and financial principles.
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of SIS, STW, and ET systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in component rebuilding.
  • Knowledge of applicable products.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code C1).
  • Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the MHSA (Mine Health and Safety Act).
