Mechanic Assistant Position – Durban

Job Overview:

• Minimum Education: Matric (Diesel Mechanic qualification advantageous)
• Experience Required: 2-3 years in FMCG workshop environment
• Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
• Department: Engineering/Technical

Core Purpose:

Support maintenance operations for bakery division’s delivery fleet through scheduled servicing, breakdown response, and after-hours support. Reports to Transport Manager.

Key Requirements:

Technical Qualifications:

• FAW/Fuso/Hino/Nissan truck experience (preferred)
• Basic maintenance scheduling knowledge
• Workshop safety protocols understanding

Candidate Profile:

• Maintains high operational standards
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
• Works effectively under pressure
• Detail-oriented team player
• Valid driver’s license (assumed)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist senior mechanics in vehicle maintenance
• Maintain clean workshop environment per HSEMS standards
• Handle equipment properly to prevent damage
• Follow all safety procedures
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently
