Core Purpose:
Lead electro-mechanical maintenance operations to ensure plant reliability, safety compliance, and optimal equipment performance while mentoring technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee maintenance planning and execution
– Implement safety protocols (PSM compliance, risk assessments)
– Manage equipment reliability programs
– Lead team performance & skills development
– Control operational budgets
– Coordinate cross-departmental technical projects
– Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Requirements:
– Matric/N3 with Mathematics & Science
– NQF 4 Electro-Mechanical Trade Certification
– 8+ years industrial maintenance experience
– Flame-proofing & gas testing competency
– Underground coal mining exposure (advantageous)
– Computer literacy (SAP/Microsoft Suite)
Performance Indicators:
– Equipment uptime optimization
– Safety compliance adherence
– Team competency development
– Maintenance cost efficiency
