Manager: Security Vetting, Administration, Standards & Policies
Company Overview
The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is a statutory insurer providing compulsory cover to all South African motorists for injuries/losses from traffic accidents.
Position Purpose
Lead security vetting operations and policy compliance, ensuring alignment with national legislation and organizational requirements. Reports to Senior Manager: Security Services.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations Management
- Oversee security clearances for employees and external partners
- Manage vetting processes and risk mitigation strategies
- Maintain security check records and pre-screening procedures
Policy Development
- Implement security systems for personnel and asset protection
- Develop strategic security plans and performance metrics
- Advise leadership on risk management and policy updates
Reporting & Compliance
- Produce management reports on security operations
- Monitor compliance with MISS/MPSS regulations
- Conduct security gap analyses and audits
Team Leadership
- Manage 5+ security professionals
- Oversee training and performance management
- Facilitate conflict resolution processes
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Security Management/Criminology (NQF 6)
- Valid PSIRA grading
- Security Vetting Certification
Experience:
- 6-8 years in security vetting (2+ years supervisory)
- Proven track record in security policy implementation
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in OHS Act compliance
- Advanced MS Office proficiency
- Security investigation techniques
