Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience (local government experience preferred)
- Proven managerial experience
- In-depth knowledge of MFMA, MSA, and Local Government legislation
- Strong understanding of National Treasury regulations and GRAP standards
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Computer proficiency and valid driver’s license (Code B)
- Competencies per Local Government Municipal Staff Regulations (Gazette 45181)
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead departmental staff with performance monitoring and development
- Manage workflow, overtime approval, and leave coordination
Public Relations & Customer Service
- Resolve public inquiries and complaints effectively
- Maintain service excellence in customer interactions
Financial Operations
- Develop tariff proposals and oversee implementation
- Manage property valuation processes and documentation
- Supervise revenue collection and debt management
- Ensure accurate billing and account reconciliation
Strategic Administration
- Represent department in strategic meetings
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and legislation
