About the Role

Lead the strategic management of library services across Breede Valley Municipality. Oversee library operations, staff supervision, budget management, and community service alignment with municipal objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement library service strategies
• Manage 7 libraries and multiple mini-libraries
• Supervise staff training and performance
• Control operational and capital budgets (R3.1m annual budget)
• Ensure compliance with national library standards
• Coordinate with provincial education departments
• Manage infrastructure and resource allocation

Requirements

• 4-year qualification in Library/Information Science
• Valid Code B driver’s license
• Proficiency in two official Western Cape languages
• LIASA membership required
• National Treasury competency compliance
• Advanced computer skills (MS Office essential)
