Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife manages nature conservation across KwaZulu-Natal’s protected areas under the KZN Nature Conservation Management Act (No.9 of 1997), including ecotourism development.

Position Details

Job Type: Full Time
Required Education: Matric + National Certificate/Diploma in Nature Conservation
Preferred Qualification: B.Tech in Nature Conservation or related field
Experience Needed: Minimum 5 years operational/supervisory experience in game capture
Location: KwaZulu-Natal
Department: Wildlife Management

Core Responsibilities

• Manage budgets and financial controls for game capture operations
• Lead 20+ team members with HR processes and performance management
• Coordinate ethical wildlife capture/translocation programs
• Oversaw animal population control strategies and boma management
• Manage wildlife auctions and biodiveristy economy initiatives
• Ensure compliance with aviation safety regulations for aerial operations
• Maintain equipment/fleet for capture operations

Essential Requirements

• Valid Code B driver’s license
• Proven leadership in wildlife management
• Knowledge of veterinary health protocols
• Strong operational planning skills
• Understanding of conservation legislation
