Job Purpose

To manage and coordinate financial processes for the business unit, aligning with operational plans and strategic goals. Ensure financial discipline across the organization.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualification and Experience Required

  • A relevant B-Comm Degree in Accounting or Advanced Diploma in Accounting (NQF 7) and 8-10 years’ experience in a similar financial environment, including 3-4 years at junior management level.

Alternative:

  • Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 15 years’ related experience in a similar financial environment, including 3-4 years at junior management level.
  • Note: These alternative qualifications and experience apply to internal SARS staff requirements.

Finance

  • Prepare budgets aligned with tactical plans, monitor actual vs. planned spending, and report on cost efficiency.
  • Forecast financial risks and escalate issues as needed.
  • Implement and monitor financial controls, cost management, and governance in your area.
  • Manage costs in core processes to meet savings targets.
  • Contribute to divisional budgets to align with plans.
  • Eliminate unnecessary spending and ensure expenses match predictions.
  • Report on cost efficiency and recommend improvements.
