Maintenance Assistant

Duties

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing all maintenance tasks as per the rosters and schedules for the Village.
  • Keeping roofs, gutters, and exteriors in good repair.
  • Responding to residents’ requests as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Handling small plumbing, electrical, painting, and repair jobs in the Village.
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are well maintained.
  • Following all health and safety rules.
  • Maintaining properties and equipment.
  • Prioritising the safety of residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Trade certificate or diploma in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or general maintenance (advantageous).
  • Grade 12.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Relevant experience in maintenance.
  • Basic skills in plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical work.

Skills and Attributes

  • Good communication skills.
  • Neat and professional appearance.
  • Patience and a caring attitude when working with elderly residents.

Specific Requirements

  • Clear health record.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Clear credit record.
  • Contactable references.
