Position Summary
We seek a technically skilled Maintenance Assistant for our Durban Bakery Unit. This role involves maintaining production equipment, performing mechanical/electrical repairs, and ensuring operational efficiency. Reports to Maintenance Manager.
Key Details
- Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric)
- Experience: 2-3 years maintenance experience (Production/Bakery environment preferred)
- Skills: Mechanical/Electrical aptitude, English proficiency, basic numeracy
Core Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations:
- Perform scheduled maintenance and urgent equipment repairs
- Assist with facility maintenance projects
- Maintain workshop organization and tool inventory
- Complete job cards with technician sign-off
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all health/safety protocols and food safety standards
- Implement Good Manufacturing Practices
- Clean workspaces post-maintenance activities
Candidate Requirements
- Proven maintenance experience in industrial settings
- Ability to follow technical instructions accurately
- Self-motivated with strong task prioritization skills
- Availability for full-time onsite work in Durban
