Job Title: Loco Driver – Northam Development

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric certificate or equivalent
  • Competent B Certificate
  • Loco Operator competency certificate
  • Dover Test Certificate
  • Medically fit
  • Valid First Aid Certificate

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • At least 3 years’ experience in underground construction work
  • Knowledge of operating and inspecting Loco Machines
  • Familiarity with the Mine Health and Safety Act
  • Experience with Shafts and Development operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good housekeeping practices

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work independently and collaboratively with critical thinking skills
  • Ensure SHE compliance and participate in early entry examinations
  • Safely handle all tools and equipment
  • Maintain good housekeeping in your area
  • De-sludge/clean out holes after drilling
  • Adhere to pre-check lists and conduct mid-shift risk assessments
  • Report breakdowns to supervisors and engineering teams
  • Barricade hanging wall, sidewall, and face
