Line Haul Driver – Skooch – Beaufort West Jobs

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate vehicles to transport goods between hubs and distribution centers.
• Ensure timely pickups and deliveries while following all transportation laws and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good condition.
• Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, mileage, and load details using electronic devices.
• Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations for safe operation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and report any delays, issues, or accidents.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
• Follow company policies to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Valid Driver’s License (Code 14)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in long-haul or regional driving.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Ability to operate GPS and electronic logging devices.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Ability to lift and secure freight as needed.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with trailers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for truck troubleshooting.
• Previous experience in logistics or freight transportation.
