Job Purpose

Lead digital forensics operations, manage investigative workflows, and optimize resources to support tax crime investigations. Drive strategic improvements in digital forensic practices and uphold compliance with national legal frameworks.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Honours Degree/Postgrad Diploma + 10–12 years’ experience (3–4 years in management)
  • OR Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma + 12–15 years’ experience (3–4 years in management)

Technical Competencies

  • Evidence preservation & chain-of-custody protocols
  • Data recovery & analysis
  • Criminal Procedure Act compliance
  • Testifying in legal proceedings
  • GOC Secret-level information handling

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop policies for digital forensics aligned with tax laws and criminal procedures
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies on cross-functional investigations
  • Oversee complex digital forensic cases and reporting
  • Optimize resource allocation and budget management
  • Implement quality assurance programs for investigations
  • Drive innovation in forensic methodologies and tools

Governance & Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with risk management frameworks
  • Foster team development and interdepartmental collaboration
  • Manage departmental budgets up to R5 million
  • Build stakeholder relationships through service agreements
