Law Enforcement Officers: Tactical Response Unit (11 Positions)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Traffic Diploma or Law Enforcement/Peace Officer qualification (must be recognized for South African Police Peace Officer declaration, with at least 6 weeks of training)
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • No criminal record (appointment subject to police clearance)
  • Firearm proficiency
  • Must have performed active duties in the past 12 months in a Police, Traffic, or Law Enforcement environment

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (Afrikaans, English, Xhosa – ability to read, write, and speak)
  • Good human relations, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Conflict handling skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • High level of responsibility
  • Must be physically fit and able-bodied
  • Must work overtime, shifts, and perform standby duties when required; may need to work in other areas of the Municipality
  • Required to wear the prescribed uniform
  • Must not have been involved in any fraudulent activities or resigned due to investigations into such activities
  • Will work shifts to cover a 24-hour period
  • Must obtain a municipal driver authority and official Firearm competency certificate within 6 months of appointment
