Language Practitioner – Sepedi (Gauteng)
Position Type: Full-Time
About Us:
As South Africa’s national legislature under the current Constitution, Parliament consists of the National Assembly and National Council of Provinces. We are currently seeking qualified candidates to join our language services team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate translation of parliamentary documents
- Hansard reporting for official records
- Verbatim interpreting services
- Terminology development and standardization
Essential Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12/NQF Level 4 + 3-year Degree/Diploma in Language Practice (Sepedi major preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in language services
- Language Proficiency: Fluent in Sepedi and English
Required Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Typing proficiency (minimum 40wpm)
- Ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
- Flexibility for extended working hours
