Labour Relations Officer Position – uMlalazi Municipality

Position Details

Location: KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Salary Range: R451,556.51 – R586,135.42 per annum (Task Grade 13)
Benefits: Cellphone & Data Allowance (per council policy)

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations, HR Management, or Law (Labour Law specialization)
  • 4 years’ experience in Industrial Relations
  • Expertise in labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA)
  • Valid Code B driver’s license
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong negotiation & communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations across all organizational levels
  • Oversee disciplinary processes & grievance procedures
  • Advise on labour legislation compliance
  • Facilitate dispute resolutions & collective bargaining
  • Prepare reports for management committees
  • Support employment equity initiatives
