Laboratory Assistant (Fixed-Term Contract)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols
• Collect and process samples from production areas using approved methods
• Operate specialized lab equipment including LDV, XRF analyzers, and milling machines
• Conduct quality control checks and maintain accurate data records
• Prepare samples for analysis through drying, crushing, and milling processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams to report equipment issues
• Maintain clean workspaces and proper waste management

Requirements:

• Grade 12/N3 qualification (Essential)
• Valid Code B driver’s license (Mandatory)
• Overhead crane certification (Preferred)
• 1+ years’ experience in laboratory operations
• Familiarity with mining/laboratory safety standards

Key Competencies:

• Attention to detail in sample handling
• Proficiency with analytical equipment
• Strong communication skills
• Time management abilities
