Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented legal professional to handle customs and excise litigation cases involving moderate complexity. This role contributes to maintaining fiscal compliance through effective case management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare legal documentation for customs/excise disputes
- Support senior staff in case consultations and court applications
- Draft settlement agreements within policy guidelines
- Manage subpoena responses for officer court appearances
- Ensure compliance with legal frameworks and SARS policies
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel
Essential Requirements:
- Paralegal Diploma (NQF 6 certification)
- 2 years’ experience in legal or customs environments
- Working knowledge of tax/customs legislation
- Proficiency in legal research and documentation
