Position Overview:

Seeking a detail-oriented legal professional to handle customs and excise litigation cases involving moderate complexity. This role contributes to maintaining fiscal compliance through effective case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare legal documentation for customs/excise disputes
  • Support senior staff in case consultations and court applications
  • Draft settlement agreements within policy guidelines
  • Manage subpoena responses for officer court appearances
  • Ensure compliance with legal frameworks and SARS policies
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel

Essential Requirements:

  • Paralegal Diploma (NQF 6 certification)
  • 2 years’ experience in legal or customs environments
  • Working knowledge of tax/customs legislation
  • Proficiency in legal research and documentation
