Minimum Qualifications:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) recorded on the National Learner Record Database on NQF level 4.
- Fluency in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
- Valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
- South African Citizenship.
- No previous criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases.
- Must not have visible tattoo marks while wearing the uniform.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work under pressure and extended hours.
- Relevant courses in communications or media will be advantageous.
Additional Post Requirements:
- A three-year Diploma or Degree accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher in fields such as Social Media Production, Communication, Journalism, Film and Television, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or related disciplines.
- A broad understanding of various media platforms.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strategic thinking and tactical implementation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Core Functions:
- Oversee social media management within the Broadcast Section.
- Develop engaging video and broadcast content for SAPS social media platforms, including WhatsApp, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
- Collaborate with the social media team to drive campaigns and engagement.
- Execute creative strategies to enhance engagement, followers, and brand awareness.
- Capture compelling photos and videos at events and incidents for social media use.
- Monitor social media channels for trends and opportunities to engage with audiences.
- Assist with live coverage of SAPS events and analyze social media metrics for insights to optimize service delivery.
