Job Advert Summary

The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Building Foreman and will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of building work, civil dwellings, and shoring of pipelines as needed. The role also involves assisting in the manufacturing of wooden products and maintaining workshops, workshop machinery, and artisan tools.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Basic carpentry training/competency.
• 1-2 years of experience in a carpentry workshop or similar environment.

Primary Duties

• Assistance to Carpenters: Provide carpenters with necessary tools and equipment, and assist in the manufacturing of wooden products.
• Excavation Support: Help with excavation shoring, the shoring of pipeline trenches, and loading and offloading materials and equipment.
• Work Area Preparation: Prepare work areas and surfaces, clean tools and equipment, and ensure cleanliness in the work area.
• Workshop Maintenance: Clean workshops and workshop machinery and tools, and carry out general housekeeping duties.
