Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Matric/Grade 12 qualification (NQF level 4).
- Program Participation: Applicants who have previously participated in the program will not be considered.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer use is essential.
- Availability: Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
- Residency: This position is open to youth residing in the Johannesburg community, with only City of Johannesburg residents eligible to apply.
Primary Function
As a Relief Worker, you will assist the Senior Librarian/Librarian in delivering direct Library and Information Services to the public. Your responsibilities will include supporting all administrative operations of the library.

- Assist with the daily administrative and operational tasks of the library.
- Gain experience in public service and library management.
Leading Competencies
Successful candidates will possess the following skills:
- IT Literacy: Proficiency in information technology and computer systems.
