Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education:
    • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational) on NQF level 4.
    • A three-year Diploma or Degree accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher in Event Management, Communication, Marketing Management, or Public Relations.
  2. Language Proficiency: Fluent in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
  3. Driver’s License: Valid light motor vehicle driver’s license.
  4. Citizenship: South African Citizen.
  5. Criminal Record: No previous criminal or departmental convictions or pending cases.
  6. Physical Appearance: No visible tattoo marks while in uniform.
  7. Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  8. Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Work Under Pressure: Ability to work extended hours and under pressure.

Additional Post Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in event management or communication will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and under pressure.
  • A short course in project management will be beneficial.

Core Functions:

  • Organize and manage all aspects of events (planning, implementation, coordination, and stakeholder negotiation).
  • Attend meetings with various role players.
  • Inspect equipment and report any damage or loss.
  • Manage and maintain financial applications for events, liaising with internal and external clients before and after each event.
  • Collaborate closely with exhibition, artist, and protocol coordinators during events.
