A company providing hardware and software solutions across multiple sectors including retail, financial services, education, and live events is looking for an Assembly Technician to join their team. The technician will be responsible for the assembly, programming, building, setting up, installation, maintenance and testing of all products.

Duties & Responsibilities


Product assembly

  • To ensure all products are assembled correctly daily—this refers to the screens, PCs, electronic components as well as all the other components

Product testing

  • To ensure all products are tested effectively daily—this refers to the screens, PCs, electronic components as well as any other various components
  • Testing needs to happen before any product is dispatched

Product repair and maintenance

  • To ensure all products are repaired and maintained daily—this refers to the screens, PCs, electronic components as well as any other components
  • Ensure testing and QA takes place after repairs have happened

OTRS ticket management

  • To ensure the all tickets are actioned, resolved and closed as per the OTRS policy within the SLA time frame on a daily basis—this ties into the job card To ensure feedback is supplied to the ticket owner on a daily basis, should the ticket not be able to be closed—this ties into the job card

Administrative duties

  • To ensure all administrative duties allocated by the Team Leader are carried out in a timely manner
  • To ensure when stock is pulled it is immediately noted in the stock book
  • Dispatching—ensure all items dispatched are logged in the delivery book each day

Health and safety

  • Ensuring that personal protective equipment is always worn and used and is stored correctly after use
  • Ensuring all responsibilities are seen to daily, as a health and safety representative


  • Ensuring the workstation is always neat and clean
  • Ensuring the assembly area is always neat and clean


  • Ensure charts are always updated
  • Ensure participation takes place

Ad hoc duties

This refers to all duties which will be operationally required which can include, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Deliveries/collections
  • Machine operations (training will be provided)
  • Assembly

Desired Experience & Qualification


  • Grade 12 or equivalent certificate essential
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
