About the Role

The IT Support Engineer will provide comprehensive technical support to end users, ensuring smooth operation of software, hardware, and network systems. The role involves troubleshooting, installing and testing software, maintaining security controls, and supporting the agency’s IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end‑user support for software installations and troubleshooting.
• Support end‑user hardware issues and maintenance.
• Conduct software testing and quality assurance.
• Implement and manage IT security controls.
• Assist with vulnerability management and patching.
• Maintain backups and support disaster recovery procedures.
• Support voice and contact centre solutions.
• Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support.
• Collaborate with network and security teams to maintain infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification.
• NQF 6 qualification in IT.
• Relevant IT certificates (e.g., MCSE, A+, N+, CCNA, SQL, Linux, Server+).
• At least 3 years of experience in IT software and desktop support.

Competency Requirements

• Knowledge of cybersecurity solutions (Firewalls, SIEM, MDR, CIS).
• Experience with vulnerability management tools.
• Strong understanding of hardware and software support.
• Proficiency with operating systems and networking.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with voice and contact centre technologies.
• Excellent customer‑care and communication skills.

Benefits
