Job Description

The purpose of this role is to support the General Manager: Corporate Finance in ensuring high-quality pre and post due diligence processes. This includes overseeing transactions to align with Transnet’s objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Guiding and reviewing work done by the team or transaction advisors, including financial models and assumptions.
  • Identifying financial and funding risks for investments and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions and corporate finance advisors.
  • Assessing the impact of investments on Transnet’s financial statements.
  • Acting as an expert in deal structuring, negotiations, and project management.
  • Leading due diligence investigations and negotiating finance and legal structures for investment deals.
  • Overseeing the financial aspects of investment projects and monitoring performance.
  • Mentoring trainees and contributing to the development of governance documents.

Requirements

  • BCom Degree, CA, or CFA qualification.
  • At least 12 years of experience, with 4 years in complex deal-making.
  • General knowledge of corporate finance with experience in private equity.
  • Trustworthy and honest in handling finances, adhering to the National Credit Act Amendment 19.
