Investigator (Network Theft)

Job Purpose

  • Conduct investigations into cable and infrastructure theft that affects eThekwini Electricity. Patrol hotspot areas and carry out surveillance to catch suspects involved in theft on a 24/7 shift basis.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Investigate cases of electrical infrastructure theft.
  • Implement operational and special plans.
  • Report on progress, feedback, and training responses.
  • Draft and produce administrative and operational reports.
  • Ensure vehicle log sheets are completed accurately.

Essential Requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
  • Peace Officer certificate or ability to obtain it within one year from appointment.
  • Firearm licence certificate or ability to obtain it within one year from appointment.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving licence.
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Computer literacy.

Preferred Requirements

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Crime Prevention, Investigations, Security Management, or related field.
  • 3 years relevant experience.
