Position Overview
Conduct independent criminal investigations into tax and customs-related offenses while upholding SARS’ mandate as South Africa’s national tax authority.
Key Requirements
- Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
- Minimum Education: National Diploma in Law/Criminal Investigations/Forensic Auditing/Taxation
- Alternative Qualification: Senior Certificate (NQF 4) with extended experience
- Required Experience: 2-6 years in forensic investigations
Core Responsibilities
- Lead criminal investigations into tax evasion and customs violations
- Prepare case files for legal proceedings and testify as expert witness
- Collaborate with National Prosecuting Authority and SAPS
- Conduct forensic analysis of financial records and transactions
- Maintain chain of evidence and investigation documentation
Essential Skills
- Proven investigative techniques in financial crimes
- Working knowledge of Tax Administration Act and related legislation
- Advanced report writing and evidentiary analysis
- Forensic accounting principles and fraud detection
