Investigative Assistant (USEFM)
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng | Contract Position
About the U.S. Mission:
Our diplomatic team of 346 U.S. and 620 South African professionals operates across four locations: Pretoria Embassy and Consulates in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support criminal investigations involving document fraud, human trafficking, and smuggling operations
- Manage investigative databases and protect sensitive information systems
- Provide analytical and administrative support for diplomatic security operations
- Coordinate with multiple government agencies on criminal investigations
Essential Requirements:
Education:
Minimum 2 years college/university education (Bachelor’s preferred)
Experience:
3+ years in legal, law enforcement, research, or administrative roles
Security Clearance:
Must qualify for U.S. Secret-level security clearance
Required Skills:
- Full professional proficiency in English (written/verbal)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and information management capabilities
- Understanding of diplomatic security protocols
