Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare laboratory buffers and growth media
  • Isolate, purify, and preserve bacterial cultures
  • Conduct DNA extraction and PCR analysis
  • Maintain national bacterial culture collection
  • Support field sampling across multiple provinces
  • Assist with glasshouse trials and soil preparation
  • Maintain quality control and safety protocols
  • Perform data capture and research support

Requirements:

  • National Diploma/BSc in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Plant Pathology or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
  • Practical lab experience (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license for fieldwork
  • Familiarity with bacterial preservation techniques
  • Willingness to travel for sample collection
