Internal Audit Intern Jobs

Requirements:

• R120,000 per annum (all inclusive)
• 2-year internship contract
• The appointment will follow the Conditions of Service of Ehlanzeni District Municipality
• Grade 12 plus a National Diploma in Internal Auditing (an Advanced Diploma or BTech in Internal Auditing is an advantage)
• Computer literacy in MS Office packages (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• General knowledge of Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), developments in local government’s finances, and corporate governance
• Good interpersonal skills; good written and oral communication skills
• The intern will be trained and required to assist in the following roles:
• Perform internal audit tasks as per the audit program
• Report to the Chief Audit Executive on the implementation of the internal audit plan, covering internal audit, internal controls, accounting procedures and practices, risk and risk management, performance management, loss control, execution of council resolutions, and compliance with the MFMA and other applicable legislation
• Examine and review the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information and the methods used to identify, measure, classify, and report this information
• Examine and review systems to ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, regulations, and contracts that could impact operations and reporting to the council
• Examine and review the internal control system for safeguarding municipal assets
• Periodically verify the existence of property and equipment assets
• Evaluate the economy and efficiency of resource utilization by the municipality
• Review operations and programs to ensure results align with established goals and objectives
