About Us:
As a Department of Transport agency established in 1998, SACAA ensures aviation safety through effective regulation. We’re seeking a qualified Meteorology Inspector to join our Centurion team.
Position Details:
- • Employment Type: Full-time
- • Required Education: National Diploma/BSc in Relevant Field
- • Experience Required: 5+ Years in Aviation Meteorology
- • Department: Safety Oversight
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Monitoring:
- • Evaluate weather systems and meteorological infrastructure compliance
- • Monitor service provider performance and corrective actions
- • Assess radar networks and automatic weather systems
Safety Oversight:
- • Conduct facility inspections and personnel competency assessments
- • Develop inspection tools and risk assessment protocols
- • Participate in safety improvement initiatives
Operational Requirements:
- • Maintain quality management systems
- • Prepare technical reports and audit responses
- • Collaborate with aviation stakeholders
Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) OR
- • BSc in Meteorology/Atmospheric Science
- • 5 years’ experience in meteorological forecasting/tech roles
Preferred Qualifications:
- • BTech/BSc Honors in relevant field
- • Weather radar systems experience
