Information Officer – 3 Posts (5-Month Contract)

Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Management, Public Administration, or a related qualification recognized by SAQA.
 - 1–2 years’ experience in information management or health information systems.
 
Knowledge of:
- DHIS software, Tier.Net, and EDR Web.
 - National Health Information Systems in South Africa (NHISSA) and District Health Management Information System (DHMIS) frameworks.
 - Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
 - Leadership and supervisory skills.
 - A valid driver’s licence is required.
 
Duties:
- Compile HAST monthly, quarterly, and DORA reports for all facilities.
 - Maintain and monitor timely submission of data and compile data quality indices measuring timeliness, completeness, submission rates, and overall data accuracy.
 - Serve as Provincial Tier Key Implementer and Tier.Net technical support personnel, providing troubleshooting and liaising with the National Department of Health (NDoH).
 - Provide provincial support for Health Information EDRWeb, assisting facilities with data capturing challenges.
 - Act as Tier.Net and EDR trainer, conducting training sessions for all relevant stakeholders on system use and updates.
 - Support district and sub-district personnel with data-related issues and ETR technical problems.
 - Manage and analyse data for HAST programmes, identifying outliers, missing, and incorrectly reported data.
 - Assist in facility audit readiness by strengthening implementation and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
 - Provide regular feedback to districts on analysed data and progress towards set indicators and targets.
 - Monitor Tier.Net progress monthly at both district and facility levels.
 - Compile pre-submission reports addressing data quality issues identified at district level.
 - Communicate with districts and sub-districts regarding training schedules, feedback, and outcomes of provincial office sessions.
 - Coordinate meetings and training workshops on data management, reporting accuracy, and system performance.
