Information Officer – 3 Posts (5-Month Contract)

Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Information Management, Public Administration, or a related qualification recognised by SAQA.
 - 1–2 years’ experience in information management or health information systems.
 
Knowledge of:
- DHIS software, Tier.Net, and EDR Web.
 - National Health Information Systems in South Africa (NHISSA) and District Health Management Information System (DHMIS) policies and principles.
 - Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
 - Leadership and supervisory skills.
 - A valid driver’s licence.
 
Duties:
- Compile HAST monthly, quarterly, and DORA data reports for health facilities.
 - Maintain and monitor timely submission of data. Compile data quality indices to measure timeliness, completeness of submissions, and accuracy.
 - Serve as Provincial Tier Key Implementer and Tier.Net technical support. Troubleshoot issues and liaise with the National Department of Health (NDoH).
 - Provide provincial support for Health Information EDRWeb. Help sites with capturing and reporting challenges.
 - Act as Tier.Net and EDR trainer. Provide training to stakeholders on system use.
 - Support district and sub-district personnel with data-related issues, including ETR technical problems.
 - Manage and analyse data for HAST programmes. Identify outliers, missing data, and reporting errors.
 - Assist in facility audit readiness by ensuring data quality and following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
 - Provide regular feedback to districts on analysed data and performance against targets.
 - Monitor Tier.Net progress monthly at district and facility levels.
 - Compile pre-submission reports to address district data quality issues.
 - Communicate with districts and sub-districts on training, feedback, and follow-up actions from the provincial office.
 - Coordinate meetings and training sessions on data management and reporting improvements.
