Independent Correctional Centre Visitor
Location: Nkandla Correctional Centre, KwaZulu-Natal
Position Type: Full Time
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12/Senior Certificate
- Computer literacy essential
- Valid recommendation from community organization (dated within last 6 months)
- Understanding of Batho Pele principles
- Ability to work independently and in teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily facility visits and engage with inmates/officials
- Monitor and report on incarceration conditions
- Document all incidents including restraints, force usage, and detainee deaths
- Support JICS inspectors during official investigations
- Manage complaint documentation and reporting systems
