•Write up research results for conference presentations, research reports and manuscripts for publication;
•Participate in the planning, undertaking and management of research fieldwork;
•Analysis of survey data and data from other secondary sources;
•Assist with literature reviews and other secondary data searches;
•Participate in the formulation of research questions and projects;
•Conduct research and facilitate exchange of information among colleagues;
•Collection and analysis of data and preparing research reports and manuscripts for publication
•Assist with the Managing, planning and coordinating of project meetings, dissemination workshops, policy roundtables and events.
•At least 2 years research experience in a knowledge producing agency;
•An exceptional academic record;
•An innovative thinker;
•Fluency in English and proficiency in indigenous languages;
•Strong written and verbal communication skills;
•Sound quantitative and qualitative research skills;
•Competency in computer programmes such as MS Word, Econometric software (STATA) and referencing software;
•Intellectual and personal integrity, a well-developed work ethic, and drive;
•The capacity to work under pressure and to work after hours if required;
•Applicants must be South African citizens.
The HSRC offers attractive, market-related salaries, depending on qualifications, experience and recent performance.
