Human Resources Practitioner (2 Positions)

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have completed Matric.
- An appropriate Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of appropriate experience.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies:
- Strong organizing and administrative abilities.
- Strong IT skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Planning and prioritizing skills.
- Knowledge of basic human resource policies and procedures.
- Experience liaising with institutions involved in race relations, disability, gender, religion, and health and safety.
- Working knowledge of developing policies.
- Working knowledge of recruitment and selection.
- Ability to interpret employment legislation.
Key Performance Areas:
- Assist with ensuring an effective Human Resource Management and Development function.
- Help ensure the effective, efficient, economical, and transparent administration of resources at ADA.
- Assist with the implementation of an Individual Performance Management System.
- Compile payroll data, enter data, and reconcile errors to maintain payroll records using a computer or calculator.
- Gather payroll data such as hours worked, PAYE taxes, UIF insurance, and union subscriptions from time and attendance records.
- Prepare computer input forms, enter data into files, or compute salaries and deductions, and post to payroll records.
- Capture salaries, compute, and correct errors to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Record changes affecting net salaries, such as exemptions, medical aid, pension fund benefits, and loan payments, to update master payroll records.
- Process garnishment requests.
- Prorate expenses to be debited or credited to each department for cost accounting records.
- Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- Keep records of leave pay and non-taxable wages.
- Prepare and issue payslips.
- Assist the HR Manager in taking effective steps to prevent unauthorized, irregular, fruitless, and wasteful expenditure, and report any losses from criminal conduct.
- Facilitate effective and efficient communication within ADA and with other stakeholders.
- Implement and report on the Human Resource Plan, Employment Equity Plan, and Skills Development Plan.
- Maintain personnel records.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring human resource policies and procedures, including:
- Recruitment and Selection.
- Performance Management.
- Training and Development.
- Employee Assistance Programmes.
- Health and Safety.
- Disciplinary Procedures.
- Leave.
- Other relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required by the supervisor.
