Position Purpose

Leads the Tactical Procurement department at TPT, focusing on reducing costs, improving efficiency, and maintaining quality and service levels. The role involves developing and implementing strategic procurement plans, improving governance, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver cost savings and productivity improvements through tactical procurement strategies.
• Develop and implement procurement plans to ensure efficient supply chain operations.
• Ensure proper demand forecasting and security of supply.
• Identify and manage potential risks in tactical procurement.
• Conduct training sessions on procurement policies and monitor compliance.
• Research industry trends to improve procurement processes.

Service Delivery Management

• Ensure timely execution of procurement projects.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to expedite service delivery.
• Monitor service levels and maintain performance metrics.

Stakeholder Relationship Management

• Build partnerships with key stakeholders to enhance business value.
• Implement supplier development and B-BBEE objectives.
• Negotiate service levels and KPIs with internal customers.
• Resolve disputes with key suppliers.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Develop and implement contract management plans.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and resolve disputes.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Monitor and mitigate reputational risks.

Performance Monitoring

• Track the achievement of procurement objectives.
• Report on monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.
• Develop and monitor KPIs and performance dashboards.

Contract Management

• Ensure sound contract management for timely service delivery.
• Resolve contract-related issues before they escalate.
• Implement corrective actions for underperforming suppliers.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
• Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
• 10 years of experience in supply chain management (5 years at senior level).
• Must be willing to undergo Lifestyle Audit and State Security Agency vetting.

• Sound risk management and strategic thinking abilities.
