Position Overview

The City of Cape Town seeks an experienced professional to lead statutory compliance operations within our Facilities Management Department. This critical role ensures adherence to national safety regulations while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Details

• Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
• Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
• Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
• Experience Needed: 8+ years (including managerial experience)
• Professional Certification: GCC Factories Competency Certificate

Core Requirements

• Proven expertise in OHS Act compliance and regulatory implementation
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite and SAP systems
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license
• Strong background in contract and project management

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive compliance inspections across facilities
• Oversee safety protocols for buildings, machinery, and construction sites
• Manage capital projects and operational budgets up to R50 million
• Develop and maintain ISO 45001 occupational health systems
• Monitor compliance performance through digital dashboards
• Serve as designated GMR 2.1 competent person
