Job Description

We are seeking a reliable Handyman/Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our facilities, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring efficient operations. This is a full-time position based in the Western Cape, requiring a matric qualification and 7-10 years of experience in a similar role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with statutory regulations and MIBCO standards in our buildings.
  • Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly to complaints and queries.
  • Handle administrative tasks, correspondence, and follow-ups.
  • Keep accurate records of work orders and maintenance paperwork.
  • Coordinate with service providers for various services.
  • Ensure sub-contractors leave work areas clean and tidy.
  • Maintain stock levels of consumables and safeguard tools.
  • Keep the storeroom organized.
  • Collect and distribute mail, including from the CCMA.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of company vehicles.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Basic English literacy (reading and writing).
  • Matric certification.
  • 5 years of experience as a handyman or driver, or 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • A Handyman Course Certificate is advantageous.
  • Experience in electrical or plumbing maintenance is preferred.
  • A relevant trade qualification is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
