Position Summary
We seek a qualified Group Reporting Accountant to oversee financial consolidation, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial management within a dynamic public utility environment.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (NQF 7)
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
- 3-5 years financial reporting experience
- Proficiency in SAP FI Module and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of IFRS, PFMA, and VAT regulations
- Caseware experience preferred
Core Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements
- Implement disclosure improvements per regulatory updates
- Manage SAP trial balance integrity
Compliance & Controls
- Enforce accounting policies and internal controls
- Coordinate audit processes and remediation plans
- Monitor regulatory compliance updates
Strategic Financial Management
- Support budgeting and variance analysis
- Advise business units on accounting matters
- Lead financial reporting improvement initiatives
Risk & Governance
- Identify financial reporting risks
- Maintain audit-ready documentation systems
- Ensure policy alignment across departments
