What is an Internship?

As approved by Cabinet in December 2002, an internship is a public service programme that provides work experience for unemployed graduates. It allows participants to gain practical knowledge in the workplace and apply the skills they learned during their studies.

Who Can Apply?

  • Unemployed South African graduates from higher education institutions who have completed a degree or diploma.
  • Unemployed graduates with no previous work experience in their field of study.
  • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
  • The internship positions are based in Cape Town at the CIPC Self Service Centres.
