Job Description

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Operations
  • Coordinate daily with other cleaners to maintain clean and tidy facilities.
  • Report maintenance issues to management on a daily basis.
  • Clean up spills, broken glass, and messes quickly when needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance related to cleaning, such as cleaning fans, aircon filters, kettles, tightening toilet seats, and adjusting blinds.
  • Clean dustbins and replace bags daily.
  • Communicate with management daily to order cleaning supplies as needed.
  • Handle basic cleaning of buildings and surroundings, including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, curtains, and railings.
  • Move furniture when required.
Other Facilities
  • Clean areas like the lapa, halls, conference rooms, storerooms, linen store, reception, and ablution blocks.
  • Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, pick up trash, remove spider webs, and clean floors, walls, windows, and ceilings as needed.
  • Empty trash, clean bins, and replace liners daily.
  • Remove gum or stickers from surfaces when required.
  • Set up and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in storerooms, keeping them clean and organized daily.
  • Monitor and maintain sanitation and organization of assigned areas daily.
  • Transport dirty linens to the cleaning area and restock with clean linens as needed.
Rooms
  • Mop, sweep, vacuum, and pick up trash daily to ensure rooms are clean and tidy for guests.
  • Wash dishes and clean cupboards and drawers when guests check out.
  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, cupboards, and floors before guests arrive.
  • Clean kettles, fridges, microwaves, and stoves before guests check in to maintain high standards.
  • Dust and remove spider webs daily.
  • Replace dirty linens with clean ones when guests check out and before new guests arrive.
  • Pay attention to details, such as neatly folded blankets and items in their proper places.
  • Check and organize crockery, cutlery, kitchenware, and linens to maintain consistency.
  • Keep track of linen inventory and report any losses.
  • Regulate linen sent to and received from laundry daily.
  • Manage guest and staff keys properly.
Restrooms
  • Empty trash, clean bins, and replace bags daily, especially during guest stays.
  • Clean and sanitize fixtures daily.
  • Clean mirrors, partition doors, and walls daily.
  • Sweep and mop tile floors daily (scrub floors and grout during spring cleaning as needed).
  • Clean toilets, urinals, basins, and showers (including shower heads) daily.
  • Refill supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, toilet spray, hand soap, and dustbin liners neatly.
Ad-hoc Duties
  • Provide stand-in or relief work when other cleaners are absent or on leave.
  • Assist management as needed.
  • Perform additional duties when required.
  • Work every second weekend.
